Sun Peaks Spa

Guest Policies & Guidelines

Welcome to Sun Peaks Spa. We are a boutique day spa offering personalized treatments in a peaceful, intimate setting. Because our space and treatment rooms are limited, we kindly ask all guests to review our policies before booking.

Our policies help us provide a smooth experience for our guests while respecting the time, schedules, and wellbeing of our therapists.

Our Boutique Spa Environment

Sun Peaks Spa currently has two treatment rooms— one private single treatment room and one doubles treatment room.

We are a boutique day spa and do not have showers, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, or other spa-facility amenities.

Our reception area is small and intended only for guests who are receiving a treatment.
Guests who are not receiving a treatment cannot remain in the reception area while waiting.

During the summer months, our patio may be available for guests. We ask that conversations remain quiet and respectful so that guests receiving treatments inside are not disturbed.

Couples & Multiple Guests

Our treatment prices are per person, not per booking.

If two people wish to receive treatments together, each person must be booked individually under their own name. This allows us to reserve the appropriate therapist, treatment time, and room capacity for each guest.

We require the full name of every guest attending an appointment.

Please do not book multiple people under one name or add additional guests to an appointment without contacting us in advance.

We are unable to accommodate surprise guests or last-minute additions to appointments. Unexpected additions can disrupt our treatment schedule and require us to rearrange staffing, treatment rooms, intake forms, and other guest requirements.

If an additional person wishes to receive a treatment, they must have their own appointment booked in advance and be included in our schedule.

Before Your Treatment

Please arrive clean and ready for your treatment. We ask that guests shower or bathe before their appointment, particularly before massage and body treatments.

Please complete all required **intake and health history forms before the day of your treatment**. This gives your therapist time to review your information and prepare for your appointment.

Please advise us in advance of any relevant injuries, health concerns, allergies, medications, pregnancy, or other circumstances that may affect your treatment.

### Arrival & Appointment Times

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.

Arriving late may result in a shortened treatment. Your treatment will still end at the originally scheduled time so that we can remain on schedule for the next guest.

Because we are a small boutique spa, we may not be able to accommodate guests who arrive significantly early.

### Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

We understand that plans can change and that illness and unexpected circumstances happen. However, our therapists reserve their time specifically for each appointment.

**Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of your appointment time, as well as no-shows, will be charged at the full price of the scheduled treatment.**

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. Providing more than 24 hours' notice allows us the opportunity to offer the appointment to another guest.

### Illness & Sick Appointments

For the wellbeing of our guests and therapists, **please do not attend the spa if you are unwell or experiencing contagious symptoms.**

We appreciate guests letting us know as soon as possible if they are sick.

When an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled due to illness within the 24-hour cancellation period, an **administrative charge may apply**. This charge reflects the staff time involved in managing the last-minute cancellation and the difficulty of filling a short-notice appointment.

If you are unsure whether you should attend your appointment, please contact us before arriving.

### Gratuity & Service Charges

Gratuity is **not included** with treatments of less than 90 minutes and remains completely at the guest's discretion.

For treatments **longer than 90 minutes, a 20% service charge will be added to the final bill.**

For **group bookings of more than five guests, a 20% service charge will be added** to the booking.

Any additional gratuity beyond the applicable service charge is entirely optional and always appreciated.

### Respectful Spa Environment

Our spa is a place for relaxation, wellness, and respectful interaction.

We ask all guests to:

* Speak quietly and respectfully.
* Keep phones on silent.
* Limit phone conversations while in the spa.
* Be considerate of other guests and our therapists.
* Follow therapist instructions regarding treatment and draping.
* Respect the privacy and comfort of other guests.

**Foul, abusive, threatening, or disrespectful language will not be tolerated. Raised voices, aggressive behaviour, or inappropriate conduct may result in the immediate termination of the appointment without a refund.**

Our therapists and staff deserve the same courtesy and respect that we provide to every guest.

### Treatment Etiquette & Draping

Your comfort, privacy, and safety are important to us.

Professional draping is provided for all massage and body treatments. Your therapist will explain positioning and draping as needed.

Please communicate with your therapist throughout your treatment. If the pressure, temperature, positioning, music, or anything else could be adjusted, please let us know.

### Group Bookings

For group bookings, we require the **full name of every guest attending** prior to the appointment.

All guests must have their own treatment booked in advance.

For groups of more than five guests, a **20% service charge will be added**.

Because our treatment rooms and staffing are limited, last-minute additions cannot be guaranteed and may not be accommodated.

### A Peaceful Experience for Everyone

Our goal is to provide a calm, welcoming environment where guests can slow down, disconnect, and enjoy their treatment.

By booking an appointment with Sun Peaks Spa, you agree to respect our spa environment, our team, and your fellow guests.

**Thank you for helping us protect the peaceful experience that makes Sun Peaks Spa special.**

*Sun Peaks Spa reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service when guest behaviour compromises the safety, comfort, or wellbeing of our guests or team.*

2. Are you open in the summer?
Yes we are! We are open all summer, however our hours of operation do differ from the winter season. To check out our up to date opening hours.

3. Why does my booking say that it will finish 15 minutes later than the treatment?

4. What kinds of products do you retail at your spa?
We love to support local, high quality brands with heart. To take a look at the variety of products we offer, just click here.

5. Can I claim my massage on my health insurance?

This depends on the fine print of your health insurance, however within BC you will typically only be able to claim your massage when it is performed by a Registered Massage Therapist. Most of our treatments are performed by experienced Body Workers, therefore if you will need to request our RMT specifically.
